Schaarbeekse Kriek 3 Fonteinen is unique for it's specific flavour of wild cherries lagered in 3-month-old  'young' lambic.

The Schaarbeekse Kriek is a tree that only grows in the region south of Brussels.

It's fruit - that grows in the wild - small, sour berries full of "zesty" flesh.

The Schaarbeekse Kriek - typically - is substancially more flavorful than the regular Oude Kriek.

The long "masuration" in 3-month-old lambic is responsible for the distinct almond taste of this exceptional fruit-lambic.

The richness of the foam can be different from year to year depending on the concentration of the oilyness from the crushing of the berry nuts.

The production of this unique fruit beer is very limited because of the scaresity of this particular tree.

The brewery is depending on the free will of local people giving away the Schaarbeekse cherries coming from their gardens to make this great and unique brew.

Apperently the birds are eating a lot of the cherries...
