A deep chestnut-brown body with a tall and creamy head. The velvet lacing is left in the tulip shaped glass.

The nose is caramel, roasted malts and coffee. The flavours are smoky and rich, burnt redwood, malt, molasses and dates. The alcohol is warming but not overwelming. Lively carbonation in a medium body. Smooth mouthfeel though. A slightly sweet and pleasing aftertaste.

This brew, made at de Proef Brewery lets you think of a 'mild Stout'. Re-fermentation in the bottle.

Troubadour Obscura is best served at a temperature of 8-10°C.
