Faux ceramic bottle. A mahogany-brown body with a huge creamy beige head on top.
Make sure to pour this beer in its own tulip formed glass (the head is 3 fingers thick). Smells pleasantly fruity, yeasty and has notes of chocolate.

The taste is fairly sweet from cherries, caramel malt and candy sugar. The mouthfeel is full and crisp, but not overly carbonated. Some floral hop bitterness comes out at the end as it warms slightly. The alcohol glow let's me think of dark rum. This dark heavy beer has a great flavour, scent and mouthfeel, the beer undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle.

It looks delicious too, which adds to its appeal.

In 1998, Gulden Draak was crowned Best Beer in the World by the American Tasting Institute, among many other awards.

The beer can be kept for at least 2 years after bottling date.
