Corked bottle. Grottenbier was created by master-brewer Pierre Celis.
A deep ruby-brown body with a big beige head. A lot of bubbles are shooting to the top.
The smell is complex and aromatic of sweet bananas, caramel malts and sour cherries.

The taste is rich with malt flavours, some fruitiness and spicy yeast notes well. The finish is dry and lightly bitter-spicy.

A deliciously crafted beer from one of my favourite Belgian breweries. Good stuff !

In the marl pits in Kanne (Northern-Belgium) and Valkenburg (Southern-Holland), deep under the ground, you can taste Grottenbier (Cave beer) at a constant temperature of 11°C.
