Clear copper-amber ale with a good lasting beige head.
Aroma is from caramel malts, vanilla and notes of spicy herbs.

The flavour is smoked malts spiced up and then some real Belgian yeasts come into play as well. Did somebody mention earl grey tea ?? The middlle palet becomes hop-bitter, with orange peel.
Medium texture with the carbs kept in place.

This brew is certainly difficult to place, but shorly has some links with a Flemish Sour Ale, ... but without the sourness. The alcohol warms you up.

Couckelaerschen Doedel used to be brewed by the defunct Brouwerij Lootens from Koekelare.
Neighbour Marc from Brewery Strubbe decided to continue it's production.
