A cloudy amber colour with a nice white head.
The crisp fresh aroma of young grass and floral hops make place for a good bitter mouthfeel. The flavour is full of spices, herbs and Belgian hops. Not too acidic though. A bit of orange peel and coriander pops up in the back.
A hoppy bitterness in the end that lingers on for quite while. If it wasn't for the alcohol present, this could be a Wallonian Saison. A delightfull and refreshing beer year-round !

In the local dialect of Poperinge (West-Flanders) hommel means hop.

Therefore Van Eecke used dialect to give this beer it's name. In Poperinge, harvesting hops is the regions main industry and art.

Poperings Hommelbier is made from 3 different types of local hops. Top-fermented and refermented in the bottle.
